Following the most recent national recommendations of the Deans of the Bar Association, the following have:

  1. Mr. T.O.Sohansingh, trading under the name Advocatenkantoor mr T.O.Sohansingh, established in Amsterdam;

  2. Mr. A.S.Bodha, trading under the name Bodha advocatuur, established in Amsterdam entered into an agreement to create a locum pool for their law practices. This will minimise the vulnerabilities of each sole practitioner's practice in the event of unexpected illness or absence and ensure that the clients concerned experience as little inconvenience as possible.
Broadly speaking, the locum agreement entails the following:

In the event of illness, death or prolonged absence of one of the lawyers involved, the practice will be taken over by one or more locums. The cases will be divided among them by mutual agreement. In doing so, they will consider the knowledge, experience and quality requirements necessary for the case. In addition, the deputy's workload capacity will be taken into account and the case will be assessed for any conflicts of interest.

The lawyers involved exchange all the necessary contact details, current passwords, keys, authorisations, etc. and inform each other of any changes.

The lawyers involved keep each other informed of important developments or particularities in their practice and meet in person at least once a year.

The substitution of the files takes place on the same (financial) basis as the confirmation of the assignment between the solicitor and the client. The handling and settlement of the file by the substitute is also in line with the agreements made between the client and the solicitor. The professional liability insurance and the Dean are informed in the event of long-term illness or death.

The solicitors' website is kept up to date with regard to the substitution.
